Swords for kendo kata

Use of our Kendo Kata Yo brings realism to the practice of kendo kata. A similar build and finish to quality iaito, but with thicker and harder blades of polished chrome plated reinforced zinc/berylium alloy, to suit the contact made in kendo kata practice.

KK-1, Daito (long sword) up to 2.4 syaku (similar length to kendo bokutoh) weight is approximately 1080 grams. KK-2, Shoto (short sword) up to 1.4 syaku and 680 grams, both weights are without the Saya.

Blade: Daito (long sword), up to 2.4 syaku and 1080g; Shoto (short sword) up to 1.4 syaku and 680g. Old sword (koto) polished finish, thick blade, suguha (straight) hamon. Hi (groove) style: no groove. Fuchi & Kashira: Iron base, plain higo style design. Menuki: As shown. Saya: Gloss black. Sageo: Black cotton. Tsuba: Four choices, as shown. Tsuka length: Standard, to suit sword. Tsuka: Black cotton binding over genuine white same (ray skin). Choose another colour at extra cost. All the iaito (iaido practice swords) and mogito (practice swords) that are offered on this site are suitable for the practice of iaido. They are made from cast aluminium-zinc alloys, have a blunt edge, cannot be sharpened and are not suitable for any type of contact or cutting practice.
