A larger and more powerful mogitoh, elegant and hard, old style sword with a longer (9 sun) tsuka. Suits people of above average height.

Legend has it that in Dodokan, Kumamoto, lived a swordsmith named Shiga Dodokan Shokoku. He gave his swords the same name. The design of our Dotanuki is inspired by his renowned battle swords. The Dotanuki sword was also popularised as the sword used by the Lonewolf and Cub film character, Ogami Itto.

Lengths over 2.5 syaku may take longer to be made.

	A beautiful, lighter and well balanced mogitoh (approx. 830gm) with a deep red/brown gloss ribbed saya. The beautiful design is inspired by a sword from a famous maker. Fittings are of medieval design on zinc base.

All the iaito (iaido practice swords) and mogito (practice swords) that are offered on this site are suitable for the practice of iaido. They are made from cast aluminium-zinc alloys, have a blunt edge, cannot be sharpened and are not suitable for any type of contact or cutting practice.
